Chaingang Training

Weekend and evening training rides are organised as weather and light permits.

Chaingangs aim to maximise pace with close, disciplined riding. Operated in a few different styles; including Hare & Hounds; whereby the hares are chased down by the hounds to exercise two different packs of speed. The Hares are known to win as much as the hounds!

Chain gangs usually operate with the drop on the protected near-side.

Note that as part of coaching there is a beginner’s chain gang at lower speeds to practice technique.

Last season saw our cyclists race at various venues including those of the Dunton Ford Cycle Club and Redbridge Cycle Centre at Hog Hill.

We encourage all of our members to enter sportives and challenge themselves to improve.
Our racing team takes a serious approach to local sportives, for benchmarking their performance, practising techniques and taking in miles on various terrain.

Doug & Trevor are both British Cycling coaches.
